Have You Ever Wondered Why Exactly Do We Age ? Here’s What Happen To Our Bodies.

Inevitable things like gray hair, wrinkles, brittle bones and even loss of memory sooner or later, will get the best of us; yet scientists claim there is no evolutionary reason as to why exactly we age. So then, why do we?

Researchers have several theories as to the causes of aging. Some claim our genes are genetically programmed to deteriorate, wither and die, while others think it's accumulated damage the actual root of our senescence.

The cell damage theory introduced by biologist August Weismann in 1882 sustains that the body succumbs to “wear and tear“: “Like components of an aging car, parts of the body eventually wear out from repeated use, killing them and then the body.”

Based on this fundamental…

theory, a large number of researchers today are studying particular physiological aspects to figure out exactly where and how this “wear and tear” occurs.

The theory states: "DNA damages occur continuously in cells . . . . While most of these damages are repaired, some accumulate . . . . [and] genetic mutations occur and accumulate with increasing age, causing cells to deteriorate and malfunction. In particular, damage to mitochondrial DNA might lead to . . . dysfunction. . . [where] aging results from damage to the genetic integrity of the body’s cells."

Below there’s a short clip that roughly explains some of the reasons why we age and suggests there might be some kind of hope for the future as far as whether or not we’ll ever be able to fight back these aging factors.
