Text Message About Matthew Perry Sent by Doctor Arrested In Connection To Actor's Death.

The recent arrest of five individuals linked to Matthew Perry’s death has shocked and saddened the public. Among those arrested is a doctor who reportedly sent an incriminating text message about the "Friends" star prior to his death. This message has elicited significant backlash from fans.

The arrests, which occurred on the morning of August 15, 2024, are part of a broader narcotics investigation into Perry's death. The U.S. Department of Justice revealed at a press conference that the investigation had uncovered a "broad underground criminal network" that exploited Perry by selling him ketamine. Details about the suspects and their connections to Perry are as follows:

Suspects Arrested in Connection with Perry's Death

1. Kenny Iwamasa

Iwamasa, 59, served as Perry’s assistant for over 25 years. Reports suggest that he may have been the one to discover Perry's body in his hot tub on October 28, 2023. Iwamasa had managed Perry's affairs and lived with him in a Beverly Hills rental apartment during the renovation of Perry’s Pacific Palisades home.

2. Jasveen Sangha

Known as "The Ketamine Queen," Sangha is accused of supplying the ketamine that led to Perry's death.

3. Dr. Salvador Plasencia

Dr. Plasencia, a licensed physician, is charged with distributing approximately 20 vials of ketamine to Perry.

4. Dr. Mark Chavez

Another licensed physician, Dr. Chavez, allegedly assisted in obtaining the ketamine and previously operated a ketamine clinic.

5. Erik Fleming

Fleming, an acquaintance of Perry and a "broker," has already pleaded guilty to conspiracy to distribute ketamine and distribution of ketamine resulting in death.

Iwamasa is believed to have worked with Chavez and Sangha to procure the ketamine. Reports indicate that Iwamasa may have administered the drug to Perry despite lacking medical training.

Public Reaction to Incriminating Texts

The revelation of an eight-word text message from Plasencia to Chavez discussing Perry elicited a strong reaction from netizens. The text message, sent while they were negotiating the sale of ketamine, was seen as particularly troubling.

Social media users expressed their grief and dismay, with many lamenting how Perry’s supposed friends had betrayed him. One user commented, “So the people who he thought and trusted were his 'friends' were not his 'friends' at all, so so sad.” Another described the situation as a “sad story of a man that had so much to live for.”

Details of the Incriminating Conversation

According to the U.S. Attorney's Office, Plasencia sent the text after learning of Perry's interest in the drug. Plasencia and Chavez reportedly discussed pricing for the ketamine, with Plasencia allegedly expressing indifference towards Perry’s well-being. The indictment notes that Iwamasa awaited ketamine delivery from Sangha, and Fleming informed Iwamasa that the substance was “on its way to our girl” shortly before Perry’s death.

Authorities also revealed that the suspects used coded language like “cans,” “bots,” and “Dr. Pepper” to refer to ketamine. Plasencia was reportedly aware of the risks involved, having witnessed a troubling incident 16 days before Perry’s death when Perry “froze up, and his blood pressure spiked” after receiving the drug. Plasencia had advised Iwamasa against administering the drug again.
