A Florida detective was call to a scene in Tallahassee, but this time it wasn’t for a crime. Instead the woman was asked to capture a 9-foot-long anaconda.
Emily Shaw, a detective with the Leon County Sheriff’s Office, wrangled the yellow snake Wednesday and deputies posted the video on Facebook for all to see.
Deputies believed that the exotic reptile might have been someone’s pet that escaped or released, and they were right.
The owner of the snake contacted the sheriff’s office and said the anaconda escaped its enclosure and he had been passing out flyers trying to find it.
The snake has since been turned over to the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and it’s unclear ...
if the owner will get the reptile back, WCTV reported. Detective Emily Shaw got an unusual call yesterday, but one she was equipped to handle.
Detective Shaw has experience handling exotic snakes. Watch as she captures what is now confirmed as a 9 foot long Yellow Anaconda, found on the east side of Leon County, near Louvinia Drive.
We believe this was someone's pet that either escaped or was released.
If you own an exotic pet- please be responsible. Make sure their cages are completely secure and if you decide you no longer want it, DO NOT release it into the wild.
Instead, contact Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission. Thanks Detective Emily Shaw for really being All In!!
