Nothing is worse for a parent than the idea that something should harm their child.
For the Rojas family, that nightmare came true.
Their life was turned upside down when their 5-year-old daughter Jocelyn disappeared outside their house. But thanks to two attentive boys, the girl, who’d been kidnapped by a stranger, was later found.
In 2013, the 5-year-old Jocelyn Rojas was playing in front of the family house in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, when she suddenly disappeared.
It soon emerged that before her disappearance, an unknown man had been seen talking to her and giving her ice cream. The man lured Jocelyn into his car, then proceeded to grab her neck and shove her inside.
Police immediately began investigating and searching for the girl – but the police search yielded no results.
Two young boys, however, decided to join in the efforts in hope of finding Jocelyn.
Temar Boggs along with his friend Chris decided to ride around the block and look around. That’s when they discovered a man behaving strangely around his car.
“Every time we’d go down the street, he’d turn back around, and then … we’ll follow him,” Temar told CNN affiliate WGAL.
When the man wasn’t looking, they rode up to the car and peered through the window. The discovery shocked the two boys – in the car sat Jocelyn.
The two brave teens chased the alleged kidnapper on their bikes for 15 heart-pounding minutes. After a while, the driver apparently knew he was being followed and gave up.
“He stopped at the end of the hill and let her out, and she ran to me and said that she needed her mom,” Temar said.
Had it not been for these two attentive boys, Jocelyn may likely never have been found. They managed to get her out of the car and immediately alerted the police.
Jocelyn’s relatives and neighbors couldn’t stop hugging Temar.
“He’s our hero. There is just no words to say,” Jocelyn’s grandmother Tracey Clay said.
The next day, the kidnapper was caught thanks to a vivid description given to the police by the two young boys.
What an operation these boys did! If you are thankful that these two boys got on their bikes, and were able to save Jocelyn, SHARE this post with friends and family!
