This tragic image portrays a heroic police officer from Colorado, comforting a little girl at the scene of a car accident where her father was killed.
6 people, including 4 children, were thrown from an SUV at 9:30 a.m. on I-76, though only the father died.
The oldest child was five years old and the youngest was an infant, and only the infant was in a car seat or wearing a seat-belt.
Witnesses reported that the vehicle lost control when one of its rear tires blew-out.
According to a 2003 study, 73 percent of passengers involved in deadly crashes…
survived only because the were wearing seat-belts.
It was discovered that all of them, except for the youngest child, were not wearing seat belts. As a result, the passengers were thrown out violently from the car.
"My daughter, when she falls down and hurts herself, I sing ‘Twinkle, Twinkle Little Star", said Brighton Officer Nick Struck. "So I started singing it to the little girl.”
