(Via: newsner.com) Facing the police can be both reassuring and, let's face it, scary. For one woman who was recently stopped by a policeman on her way to a job interview, the meeting initially terrified her.
Moments later, the cop was asking the woman to open her trunk. The woman grabbed her camera and began to film. But what happened next was something she did not expect.
Chy-Niece Thacker was on her way to a work interview when she was pulled over by a policeman. She immediately pulled over, turned her engine off and waited for him to walk over.
The policeman, Officer Jenkins, had noticed that Chy-Niece's two brake lights were broken, something she had difficulty believing as she'd changed both of them just a month earlier. She explained to the officer that a mechanic at Firestone had wanted to take USD $600 just to run a test on the wiring of the car.
Chy-Niece braced herself for the fine she was convinced the officer would give her. Instead, he did something remarkable.
Jenkins asked Chy-Niece to open her trunk. He then took…
a close look at the wiring behind her lights — and began to play around with the cables laying behind them.
A short while later, the problem was resolved, and Chy-Niece's brake lights were working perfectly.
Stunned with the officer's kind act, Chy-Niece later documented their encounter on Facebook, leading to hundreds of thousands to celebrate the officer's wonderful gesture.
Over 400,000 people have liked and shared her post, and police officer Jenkins is being hailed an everyday hero.
"He could've easily given me a ticket, but Officer Jenkins stepped out of officer role and into mechanic role to make sure I was straight," she writes on Facebook.
What a wonderful act by Officer Jenkins — he truly is a hero in my book!
