One of the challenges that companies nowadays face is finding the golden balance between no meetings at all and way, waay, waaay too many meetings full of gibberish phrases.

We asked BeastFlaps for their opinion as to why some companies tend to hold so many meetings without seemingly any purpose.

“I’m quite self-sufficient (I prefer that description to the term “introvert”) and I like to just get on with it, so for me, some meetings are absolute madness,” the artist said.

“Even some phone calls seem completely unnecessary. I’m not against face to face discussions if there’s a need to plan an event or product, but are you really going to travel halfway across the country just to tell me the top of the brochure should be sky blue? Well, okay then. I think a quick email with bullet points would save humans trillions annually,” BeastFlaps stated their position on meetings they didn’t need to be at.

BeastFlaps said that they’ve always loved drawing. “I like the fact that you can create anything from nothing with just a few spare minutes, a piece of paper, and a pencil or pen.”

“I was easily entertained as a child because of that,” they said.

The artist had some useful insights for new artists who are scared of sharing their work with the world and putting themselves out there. “You don’t need to post anything about yourself to share your work, so you can detach your personality from the art if you want.” Perfect for introver-- I mean, people of high self-sufficiency.

“If people enjoy your work or dislike it, then that’s all it is. I see many artists post photos of themselves holding their artwork and wonder how they could be so brave. I prefer to stand in the background, way behind a web of spider doodles,” BeastFlaps revealed.
