Somewhere in Khabarovsk, Russia, there lives a passionate felted wool artist that makes the cutest woodland animals that seem like they came out of a Disney movie. Her name is Yulia Derevschikova, and she's been doing this since 2015. Over the years, she has created over a hundred of these adorable little critters, and it doesn't seem like she's going to end any time soon.

The artist uses a felted wool technique, which is not to be confused with wool felt that is a totally-different-yet-very-similar technique. To put it briefly, the first one involves threading and weaving, while the latter doesn’t. The felted wool technique adds extra puffiness to the wool, and it translates into a soft and fluffy texture, which fits so well when making these cute little fluffballs. The artist has a knack for creating forest creatures, as well as more exotic types, out of this felted wool.

Needless to say, she has an eye for spotting cuteness, hence her art has a distinct style. The artistry requires great dedication since one animal takes at least 20 hours to make. Her works have a great mix of realism and aesthetics. The fur looks almost real, and you can’t resist their googly eyes and adorable small features. When you look at them, a whole range of emotions sweeps over you: an overwhelming cuteness, the desperate need to cuddle them, an urge to crush them with a hug! Judging by her work, it’s no wonder that Yulia acquired many fans over the years. She even started selling and sending them to other cities, and she claims that people get excited about each and every delivery: “The positive emotions I get when I deliver an order to the customer are very valuable to me, it gives me inspiration,” the artist told Bored Panda.
